Certified Under International Criteria

The engineering programs listed below have been certified by Acredita CI based on the quality certification model under
international criteria, as established by the Framework Manual for the Quality Certification of Science-Based
Engineering. The Acredita CI evaluation criteria for this process are equivalent to the criteria used by engineering
accreditation agencies that are members of the Washington Accord.

The certification granted guarantees the quality of the training received by the graduate of the certified engineering
program because it was granted under internationally recognized quality criteria.

These criteria ensure that the professional is prepared to practice the profession because he or she was trained under a
world-class graduation profile. This quality guarantee is also for students and their families, and it is also hoped
that it will be applied in the future in the field of professional performance in Chile.

From the moment Acredita CI is recognized as a full member of the Washington Agreement and with a retroactive period of
one year from that date, the mutual recognition of the programs certified by Acredita CI by the member countries of the
Agreement is activated. This recognition guarantees that students who obtain the professional degree after the date of
certification may opt for the revalidation of their professional degree based on the substantial equivalence of the
certified degree.

The signatories of the Washington Agreement have committed to make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the bodies
responsible for the registration, licensing or professional accreditation of the engineer to practice in their country
or territory mutually recognize the substantial equivalence of the engineering programs accredited by other signatories
of the Agreement for the purposes of the simplified revalidation of the professional degree and thus facilitate
professional practice.

If graduates of programs certified by Acredita CI have obtained their degree before the date of the program
certification, the signatories of the Agreement are not obliged to recognize the substantial equivalence of that degree,
but may do so, which is at their discretion.
